Talk!

The little boy has become very talkative lately. At times he would go on and on full German, sometimes combined with tagalog. Those would normally be stories of what happened throughout the day or what he watched or just a random thought he wanted to share. He's turning 4 and I'm quite happy that he's learned which words are German, which are Tagalog and which are English. He keeps repeating words from the advertisements of those English tv series we're watching like "buy NC short term health insurance," "look, where on the guest list," and "it's the menu!"  The hubby and I just giggle when he does.

Spring clothes etc.

Spring is fast approaching. It's time to do a clean up! Hubby has started with the outside windows and the balcony that has accumulated all the wastes still from New Year's eve...It's also time to sort out our cabinets for spring clothes.

Though I still certainly have a lot of dresses and skirts stacked somewhere for spring use, I can't resist looking around for dresses with cute spring prints...online that is! Especially too that a lot of shops are doing spring cleaning in their inventory as well. Offers range from 20-40% off on Gucci shoes, Free People dresses, Balenciaga and Miu Miu bags and Ferragamo Men's shoes! However, if I don't stop myself, I'd surely end up with another stack of cabinet to clean next spring! :D

"Greeny Onion Bagel"

If there is one thing raw that I can't eat, it would be onions. :P The pungent smell adds to how the onion tastes...perhaps when I eat it while holding my nose it would taste different. :D I do know though that onion and garlic are quite beneficial for a number of reasons. They help you detoxify and lose cholesterol (!).

So in line with my "long battle" against the "lifebouy," I am putting them into my daily eating life.

This is salmon and low fat cream cheese bagel I had for lunch (@2,90euros)...the ensemble includes arugula and lettuce as well. The whole package in a bagel made the in betweens, especially the cheese fall off...(lol) but it was a tasty and filling one. I had my bottle of banana-pineapple juice with it, fortunately on sale as of the moment (from 4 now down to 3euros) at my favorite supermarket, Merkur.

I hope to keep my eating on check, aside from the belly dancing class I took and the Wii Fit sessions, this is a routine that I would want to stick to for a long time.

hop to a topic

It's one of those lazy days that I kept browsing and browsing the net as though there aren't other things I need to do. It's a hop to the other topic kind of browsing. From Michael Jackson to vitiligo to his kids, from propofol to other stuff he was taking to a list of controlled drugs. From sleeping pills to diet pills to phentermine reviews and risks of taking diet pills. It's an endless jump and the only time I would stop reading is when there's a need for the toilet.

Others

It's very rare that I read topics that has to do with something that society deems taboo. I get lots of spam mails about male stuff and most of them I completely ignore. I could be vague in writing this but you will know what I'm talking about when you see for yourself topics like does extenze really work?, are you ok with it? and others provoking question that would make you curious what it's all about.

Teppanyaki @ home

Last Sunday I was scavenging our fridge for anything to grill. The hubby had a sudden craving for teppanyaki...Good thing there was enough, I found salmon fillets, shrimp, baby octopus, paprika and other veggies. I also had some noodles to go with it. Good enough I say, well more than good actually...we love seafood and noodles so it goes to say that this was definitely a delectable one if not ambrosial. :)

grill

A good friend of mine who has been in California some years now went back home (Cavite) for a vacation,  she met with our other friends, admittedly I was jealous and happy seeing them (photos). They met at a grill resto and from the photos I could tell how much fun they all had. It's thanks to Facebook that we have been reconnected with our grade school, highschool or college/uni friends and colleagues. Many of my friends have been uploading photos of  get togethers. They say highschool could be the most exciting experience among the three, might not be for all but surely,  the ones who'd stick the most with you are definitely your highschool friends and classmates.  This is a photo of 1/4 of our highschool class. Believe it or not, we were about 50 :D ...some have had families while others are still single, hopefully planning their own wedding soon. Some have migrated somewhere but it's always good to know that we've kept in contact with each other.

(I miss them much!)

I jokingly said that because I was not there to eat with them, we had Grill at home too, but really it was a coincident.

Anyway, I only had sesame oil last Sunday and a bit of soy sauce to spice the grilled pieces up. You all know by now how much a lover of Salmon I am, I could eat it raw, grilled, baked or however it is served and it will still be yummy...I'm glad that the kids share the same passion. Salmonn is anyway a good source of omega 3. I also loved the sweetness of the paprika (which is the only red thing that qualifies for Ruby Tuesday!) especially when a bit burned. What delighted the kids were the mini octopuses that kept standing up as they got cooked...they wondered if those were actually alive...

Blankets and soups

This winter is undoubtebly the coldest I've had (so far). With knee-high snow that stayed for over a month, I had to pull out our thickest jackets, pullovers, socks and all the blankets from our storage.  I would cook soup in between meals to keep the kids' stomach warm as well. It could be easier with the heater on but the heater always leave an uncomfortable feeling of and anxiety to us. Perhaps an electric blanket would be better next time the weather gets down like this. That and more soup to warm us up!
