My daughter and hubby are both shrimpheads, the week won't go by without a dish of shrimp so I compiled different recipes aside from the usual sinigang or sprite-seared that I may not hear complaints from them.
Hot flavored shrimp is hubby's fave, he could eat a whole serving (for us 5) without hesitation. The past week was a busy one for him as he finished a project that means staying until 8 at the office. I made sure he would eat lots later so I cooked his most favorites, one is this Chili Big Shrimps and he twice said "Okawari!" (another serving please).
Ingredients:
Shrimps (shelled or not is ok)
4 large cloves of garlic, finely minced
1 tsp red pepper flakes/chili powder
1/4 cup virgin olive oil
1/2 lemon for juice
How to:
1. Peel shrimps if you like. In a pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the garlic and red pepper flakes and sauté for about one minute or until they begin to brown. Be careful not to burn the garlic!
2. Add the shrimp and lemon juice. Stir well, then sauté, stirring briskly until the shrimp turn pink and curl.
3. Remove from heat and season to taste with salt and freshly ground black pepper. Sprinkle with parsley (optional). Serve.
As another option, you can include sherry to this recipe.
